Product Description
The 3026924 turbocharger (built on the legendary Holset HT3B / T46 frame) is the definitive air-boosting solution for the Cummins NT855 and NTC855 14.0L heavy-duty diesel engines. Designed to deliver massive airflow and sustain high boost pressures (0.8–1.2 Bar), this OEM-equivalent replacement turbo instantly restores lost horsepower and fuel economy. It is widely equipped on heavy bulldozers like the Shantui SD32, as well as industrial Cummins power generator sets (NT855-GA, NTC855-G2) and marine applications.
Turbine & Compressor: Features a 9-blade forged aluminum compressor wheel (G2.5 dynamically balanced) paired with a 7-blade Inconel superalloy turbine capable of withstanding extreme 950℃ exhaust temperatures.
Bearing System: Fully floating journal bearings with a dedicated internal oil gallery for forced pressure lubrication (0.3–0.5 MPa).
Housing & Sealing: Durable ductile iron housing equipped with dual labyrinth seals and O-rings to completely eliminate oil blow-by.
Port Dimensions: Compressor inlet: φ130 mm | Compressor outlet: φ110 mm | Turbine inlet: φ140 mm | Turbine outlet: φ150 mm.
This turbocharger provides a direct, zero-modification bolt-on fit for the following heavy equipment:
Engine Platforms: Cummins NT855, NTA855, NTC855 series (14.0 Liter, 280–480 HP).
Heavy Earthmoving: Shantui SD32 Crawler Dozers, Hitachi EX400 Excavators (Cummins-powered versions).
Power Generation & Industrial: Cummins Gen-Sets (NT855-GA, NTC855-G2), oilfield fracturing trucks, and marine main engines.
According to the Topvelsun diagnostic team, applying a new turbo to a sick engine will only cause repeat failure. Verify these symptoms before replacing your 3026924 turbo:
| Failure Symptom | Root Cause & Corrective Action |
|---|---|
| Massive Power Loss & Black Smoke | Diagnosis: The compressor wheel is damaged by debris (FOD) or the air filter is severely restricted. Inspect the φ130mm intake tract for tears or blockages before installing the new turbo. |
| Loud Screeching / Metal Scraping | Diagnosis: The floating bearings are ruined due to contaminated oil or oil starvation, causing the turbine to hit the housing. The turbo assembly must be replaced, and engine oil/filters flushed. |
| Oil Leaking from Exhaust or Intake | Diagnosis: The labyrinth seals have ruptured. Ensure the oil return line (M16×1.5) is not kinked or clogged, which causes crankcase pressure to force oil out of the turbo seals. |
Q: Is the 3026924 turbo interchangeable with the 3018067 or 3529040?
A: Yes. According to Cummins EPC data, 3018067, 3801967, and 3529040 are 100% direct-fit equivalents and superceded numbers for this HT3B/T46 frame turbocharger.
Q: Will this fit my marine NTA855 engine?
A: Generally, no. Marine variants like the NTA855 often require water-cooled turbine housings (like part numbers 3527046 or 3529030) for safety compliance in enclosed hulls. Please verify your exact CPL (Control Parts List) number before ordering.
Q: What is the installation torque for the exhaust flange?
A: The 6-point mounting bolts should be tightened evenly in a cross-pattern to 55–60 N·m to prevent exhaust leaks and housing warp.
