Product Description

YN32W01011P1 Swing 2nd Planetary Carrier Assembly

The YN32W01011P1 planetary carrier is used in the swing reduction gearbox of selected Kobelco excavators. It forms part of the second planetary reduction stage and supports the planet gears as swing motor torque is reduced and transferred through the gearbox.

This carrier design uses multiple planetary gears positioned around a large center drive section. Keeping all gear positions accurately aligned allows the swing load to be distributed across the planetary set during acceleration, braking and direction changes.

For machines with long service histories, the installed swing gearbox should be checked together with the original carrier before ordering, since complete swing reduction units may have been replaced during previous repairs.

Four Planet Gears Must Share the Load Evenly

A multi-planet carrier is designed so that several gears carry torque at the same time. The carrier keeps each planetary gear at the correct position relative to the surrounding reduction gears.

If one support position develops excessive clearance, one planet gear may begin carrying a different load from the others. This can produce uneven tooth contact, abnormal swing noise and accelerated gearbox wear.

When one planetary position shows significantly more damage than the others, the condition of the carrier should be investigated before simply replacing the damaged gear.

Check the Center Drive Area Carefully

The large center drive section is another important identification and wear point on this carrier. Wear or deformation in this area can introduce rotational clearance even when the planetary gear supports remain usable.

Inspect the internal teeth for rounding, scoring, impact marks or uneven contact. Excessive clearance here can result in delayed torque transfer and additional shock loading when the excavator changes swing direction.

A replacement carrier should match the original center profile as well as the external carrier dimensions.

Carrier Assembly or Carrier Body?

Excavator parts suppliers may describe this component as a planetary carrier, spider or carrier assembly. The supplied configuration can vary depending on whether the carrier body is sold alone or together with the planetary gears and related internal components.

Before quotation, confirm whether you require only the carrier body or the assembled carrier shown in the product photos.

This avoids confusion when replacing a damaged swing reduction component during gearbox rebuilding.

Typical Carrier Damage During Swing Gearbox Repair

  • Excessive clearance at planetary gear support positions

  • Cracks or distortion in the carrier body

  • Rounded or damaged center drive teeth

  • Uneven planetary gear tooth contact

  • Heat marks caused by lubrication problems

  • Metal debris inside the swing reduction oil

If the gearbox has suffered a severe internal failure, bearings, mating gears and lubrication condition should also be inspected before the new carrier is installed.

Information Needed for Fitment Verification

Send the following information if you need help confirming the correct carrier:

  • Excavator model and machine serial number

  • Swing reduction gearbox information

  • Clear photos of both sides of the original carrier

  • Overall carrier diameter and height

  • Center internal tooth or spline details

  • Planetary gear quantity and support dimensions

Comparing these details with the original swing gearbox helps avoid mixing visually similar first- and second-stage carrier assemblies.
