The 2401P1276 sun gear is used in the first planetary reduction stage of selected Kobelco excavator swing gearboxes. Its 20-tooth gear profile transfers swing motor input into the planetary gear set as rotational speed is reduced.
This is a different gearbox position from the other sun gear used in the same swing reduction assembly, so tooth count, gear dimensions and reduction-stage position should all be checked before ordering.
Inspect the original gear for pitting, chipped tooth edges, uneven contact marks and wear around the center bore. Excessive clearance or wear concentrated on one side may indicate a carrier, bearing or alignment problem elsewhere in the swing reducer.
If metal particles are found in the gearbox oil, inspect the mating planetary gears before reassembly.
Older Kobelco excavators may have been fitted with rebuilt or replacement swing gearboxes during previous repairs. Machine model alone should therefore not be used as the final fitment check.
Send the machine model, serial number, swing gearbox information, original gear photos, tooth count, outside diameter, bore diameter and gear width for comparison.
