The 2401P1277 planetary gear is used in the swing reduction gearbox of selected Kobelco excavators. Four of these pinion gears work together in the planetary stage to transfer torque while reducing swing motor speed.
This compact 20-tooth gear must match the original component in tooth profile, center bore, gear width and reduction-stage position. Similar-looking planetary gears used elsewhere in the same gearbox should not be treated as interchangeable.
Inspect the tooth surfaces for pitting, chipped edges and uneven contact. The center bore should also be checked for scoring or excessive wear because the planetary gear rotates around its carrier support during swing operation.
If one of the four gears shows noticeably heavier wear than the others, inspect the associated carrier position, bearing surfaces and gearbox alignment before reassembly.
Machine model alone is not always enough to identify an older Kobelco swing gearbox, especially when the reduction unit has previously been rebuilt or replaced.
For fitment checking, send the excavator model, machine serial number, swing gearbox information, original gear photos, tooth count, outside diameter, center bore and overall gear width.
