The YN32W01019F1 planetary carrier assembly is used in the first reduction stage of the swing gearbox on selected Kobelco excavators. Its three-planet layout supports the planetary gears around the center drive section as torque from the swing motor is reduced before passing through the remaining reduction system.
This component is also described in parts catalogs as a spider assembly. The carrier body, center drive profile and planetary gear support positions work together as one mechanical unit, so correct geometry is important for stable swing operation.
Because the carrier operates close to the input side of the reduction gearbox, it is repeatedly exposed to torque changes when the upper structure accelerates, stops or reverses direction.
The three planetary gears are positioned around the center of the carrier so the swing load can be divided across several gear contact points.
If one gear support position becomes worn or develops excessive clearance, that gear may no longer follow the same contact pattern as the other two. The resulting load imbalance can increase backlash and accelerate tooth wear.
For this reason, unequal wear between the three planetary positions is an important sign that the carrier itself should be inspected during gearbox repair.
The center drive area is another critical part of this carrier design. It must maintain the correct engagement with the connected reduction component while keeping the planetary gear supports accurately positioned.
Rounded internal teeth, impact marks or excessive rotational clearance can cause delayed torque transfer when the excavator begins to swing or changes direction.
A replacement carrier should therefore be compared with the original component at both the planetary support locations and the center drive section.
Wear around planetary gear support positions
Excessive clearance between the planet gears and carrier
Rounded or damaged center drive teeth
Cracks or deformation in the carrier body
Uneven tooth contact between the three planetary gears
Metal debris or abnormal contamination in the swing gearbox oil
When one planetary position shows noticeably heavier wear than the others, the surrounding gears, bearings and gearbox alignment should also be checked before reassembly.
A swing gearbox can contain more than one planetary carrier. Although different carrier assemblies may appear similar in product photos, they can use different planetary gear quantities, center profiles, overall dimensions and support geometry.
The reduction-stage position should therefore be confirmed together with the original part and swing gearbox information rather than identifying the carrier only by excavator model.
This is especially important on older excavators where a complete swing reducer may have been replaced during previous repairs.
For a more reliable identification, send the following information with your inquiry:
Excavator model and machine serial number
Swing reduction gearbox information
Clear photos of both sides of the original carrier
Planetary gear quantity
Overall carrier diameter and height
Center drive profile and internal tooth dimensions
These details help distinguish visually similar carrier assemblies used at different reduction stages.
Topvelsun supplies replacement planetary carriers and other internal swing reduction components for excavator gearbox rebuilding, equipment repair and parts distribution.
Send us part number YN32W01019F1 or cross reference 72210020 together with your machine and original carrier information, and we can help verify the application before quotation.
