The 6745-71-1840 electric fuel transfer pump supplies diesel fuel from the tank to the engine fuel system. This page is for the 24V version used in selected Komatsu equipment with SAA6D114E diesel engines.
A stable low-pressure fuel supply supports reliable engine starting, consistent operation and normal performance under load.

A worn or electrically damaged fuel transfer pump may be unable to maintain a continuous diesel fuel supply. This can affect engine starting, idling and performance under load.
Common signs of fuel transfer pump failure include:
No pump operation after the electrical supply is switched on
Hard or delayed engine starting
Low or unstable fuel supply
Irregular engine idling
Engine hesitation during acceleration
Reduced power under heavy load
Intermittent engine shutdown
Fuel leakage around the pump or connections
Abnormal noise from the electric pump
Replacing a failed pump with the correct 6745-71-1840 24V unit can help restore stable fuel delivery and normal engine operation.
