Product Description
The 114400-3890 (IHI Model RHC62W) turbocharger is the core air-intake boosting component for the legendary Isuzu 6BG1T 6-cylinder diesel engine. Widely equipped on Hitachi EX200-5 and ZX200 excavators, this heavy-duty turbo assembly significantly increases combustion efficiency and horsepower. Featuring a dual oil-and-water-cooled bearing housing, our aftermarket replacement prevents oil coking and bearing failure under extreme heavy-duty excavation cycles.
Cooling System: Advanced Oil & Water Cooled Center Housing (Water inlet/outlet φ16 mm, Oil inlet M18×1.5 / Oil return M16×1.5).
Turbine Wheel: Crafted from Inconel (nickel-based superalloy), designed to sustain extreme exhaust gas temperatures up to 950℃ at speeds reaching 150,000 RPM.
Compressor Wheel: Forged aluminum alloy, G2.5 dynamically balanced for rapid spooling, low turbo lag, and massive air delivery.
Bearing Type: Fully-floating journal bearings with dual labyrinth seals and O-rings to absolutely prevent oil blow-by and gas leaks.
Mounting: Standard 4-bolt exhaust flange. (Installation torque standard: 45–50 N·m).
This turbocharger assembly provides a 1:1 OEM fitment for the following heavy machinery powered by the Isuzu 6BG1T 6.49L engine:
Hitachi Excavators: EX200-5, EX200-6, EX210-5, EX220-5, EX230-5, ZX200, ZX200-3, ZX200-5, ZX200LC, ZX210, ZX210-3, ZX240, ZX240-3
Sumitomo Excavators: SH200-3, SH200A3
Other Applications: Hitachi L210, L240, CX210, CX240 and various Isuzu industrial power units.
Based on the Topvelsun diagnostic protocol, 90% of turbo failures are caused by oil starvation, oil contamination, or foreign object damage. Check these symptoms before replacing your 114400-3890 turbo:
| Failure Symptom | Diagnostic Meaning & Action |
|---|---|
| Thick Blue Smoke from Exhaust | Diagnosis: The labyrinth seals inside the turbo have failed, allowing pressurized engine oil to leak into the exhaust or intake. Check the oil return line (M16×1.5 port) for kinks or blockages before installing the new turbo. |
| Loud Whining / Dentist Drill Noise | Diagnosis: The floating journal bearings are worn due to oil starvation, causing the turbine blades to scrape against the housing. Stop the engine immediately and replace the turbo. |
| Loss of Power / Black Smoke | Diagnosis: Lack of boost pressure. Check for cracked intercooler pipes. If piping is intact, the compressor wheel may be damaged by debris bypassing the air filter (Foreign Object Damage). |
Q: Is this a direct replacement for VA570019?
A: Yes. VA570019, VB570019, VC570019, and 114400-3890 all refer to the same RHC62W specification turbocharger built for the Isuzu 6BG1T engine.
Q: Do I need to prime the turbo before starting the engine?
A: Absolutely. You must squirt clean engine oil into the turbo's oil inlet port and spin the compressor wheel by hand to coat the floating bearings before starting the excavator. Failure to prime will cause instant dry-rubbing damage.
