Product Description
The 1025826 Traveling 1st Carrier Assembly is the primary reduction component within the final drive gearbox of Hitachi 20-ton class excavators (including EX200-5 and ZX200 series). Serving as the critical link between the travel motor output shaft and the planetary gears, this high-strength carrier sustains intense rotational forces and shock loads. Manufactured to exact OEM specifications, our carrier ensures smooth power transmission and restores factory-level track speed and torque.
Material & Treatment: Forged from high-strength ZG40Cr cast steel. Subjected to overall quenching and tempering with surface induction hardening to achieve a robust hardness of HRC 30–35.
Internal Sun Gear Spline: Features a precision-machined involute spline designed to perfectly mate with the 2049585 travel motor output shaft. (Specs: Modulus 3, 22 Teeth, 30° Pressure Angle).
Planetary Pin Holes: Equipped with four uniformly distributed φ35mm precision bores, engineered to seamlessly house 3082155 or 3082148 planetary gears.
Operational Reliability: Designed for forced splash lubrication with dedicated final drive gear oil, capable of withstanding extreme working temperatures from -40℃ to +120℃.
This 1st stage carrier is universally compatible with the travel motor reduction units on the following Hitachi machinery:
ZAXIS (ZX) Series: ZX180LC, ZX180LC-3, ZX200, ZX200-3, ZX200LC, ZX210, ZX210H, ZX210K, ZX240, ZX240-3
EX Series: EX200-5, EX210-5, EX220-5, EX230-5
Specialized/Forestry Models: IZX200, IZX200LC, IZX210F, IZX210MF, ZR420JC
According to the Topvelsun engineering department, a compromised 1st stage carrier can destroy the entire travel motor if left unchecked. Look out for these signs during final drive maintenance:
| Failure Symptom | Diagnostic Meaning & Action |
|---|---|
| Stripped Inner Splines | Diagnosis: The 22-tooth involute spline has sheared due to metal fatigue or overloading. The travel motor will spin, but the tracks will not move. The carrier must be replaced. |
| Worn Planetary Pin Bores | Diagnosis: The φ35mm holes have elongated (egging out). This causes the planetary gears to mesh improperly with the ring gear, creating a loud clicking or popping noise while traveling. |
| Cracked Cast Body | Diagnosis: Usually caused by extreme shock loads (like rock breaking or severe track binding). A cracked carrier cannot be welded and requires immediate replacement to prevent catastrophic gearbox failure. |
Q: What is the difference between the 1st and 2nd carrier assembly?
A: The 1st carrier (1025826) connects directly to the travel motor's central sun gear (high speed, lower torque). The 2nd carrier receives power from the 1st carrier to deliver final torque to the track sprocket (low speed, massive torque).
Q: Does this carrier fit the Hitachi EX200-2 or EX200-3?
A: No. This specific carrier is designed for the EX200-5 (DASH-5) generation and the newer ZAXIS (ZX) series. Older generations use a different reduction gear layout.
